There’s nothing quite like sitting down at a real table, cards in hand, with your partner across from you and opponents ready to play. We offer three wonderful sessions each week — something for everyone, whatever your level or mood.
Bridge in the Clubrooms
At the Table | Catherine Mitchell Centre
Every Tuesday from 10am-1pm
Every Wednesday from 7pm-10pm
Competitive bridge in a friendly, welcoming environment. Our Club Bridge sessions attract players at all levels — Open, Intermediate, and Junior — playing a variety of systems including ACOL, American Standard, and 5-card majors. If you love a good game played well, you’ll feel right at home.
What you need to know:
A partner is required — but we can help! Contact us beforehand or post in the WBC Partners & News WhatsApp group and we’ll do our best to find you one
Please arrive and be seated 15 minutes before the start of play
Expect 24–28 boards of great bridge, depending on numbers — usually around three hours of play
Thursday Social Supervised Play
At the Table | Catherine Mitchell Centre | Every Thursday from 1pm-3pm
Exactly what it says — and exactly what you need if you’re looking for a relaxed, friendly introduction to club play.
Thursday afternoons are social, supportive, and open to everyone — you don’t even need to be a club member to come along. Pull up a chair, pour a cup of tea, and play some bridge.
What makes it special:
No partner needed — just arrive by 1pm and we’ll sort you out
Senior players on hand — one or two of our most experienced members join in at the tables, partner those who need one, or circulate to watch, listen, and offer a helpful word where invited
Afternoon tea included — because bridge and biscuits belong together
Koha welcome — we ask for a koha to cover table costs, food, tea, and coffee
Open door — members and non-members alike are warmly welcome
Just arrive by 1pm — that’s all you need to do.
