Bubbles and Bridge
A Matariki Celebration & Amalgamation Party
Friday 10 July 2026 | Catherine Mitchell Centre | 1-3.30pm
A day to remember — and a club to celebrate!
Matariki marks the Māori New Year — a time for reflection, remembrance, and looking forward together. And what better moment to celebrate the birth of our new Waiheke Bridge Club?
Join us for a special evening of sparkling bubbles, great bridge, and the joy of coming together as one club for the very first time.
What to expect:
Bubbles on arrival — raise a glass to new beginnings
An afternoon of bridge — fun, friendly, and competitive in equal measure
Meet your new clubmates — the best of both clubs, now under one roof
Celebration & community — because this is the perfect day for it!
All Waiheke bridge players are warmly welcome.
Whether you played with the old clubs for decades or are brand new to the scene — this is your night. Come and meet the people who’ll be sitting across the table from you for years to come.
Across the Ditch
Sunday 19 July 2026
Every year we cross the Waitematā Harbour to take on our friends at the Royle
Epsom Bridge Club in a fun and friendly day of bridge — and this year is no different!
The Plan
Catch the 10am ferry with your Waiheke bridge crew and make a day of it in the city.
We’ll head straight to the fabulous Japanese restaurant we all loved last year for a relaxed lunch together — then on to the bridge, ready to play our best!
Bridge starts at 1pm, on the first floor at 273 Remuera Road, so if you can’t make the ferry you’re welcome to meet us there.
The Details
Sunday 19 July 2026,
Optional: 10am ferry from Waiheke
Lunch together beforehand
Bridge from 1pm
No partner needed
